Andrew Marshall is a multi-disciplinary writer and visual artist living on the fringes of The Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina. He’s currently a staff writer for AllGear’s suite of websites. He also regularly contributes to print and web outlets as a freelancer. He won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Excellence in Craft Awards from the Outdoor Writers Association of America in 2022 and 2023 across the fields of journalism, illustration, and photography.
Andrew regularly writes on such diverse topics as conservation, outdoor adventure, gear and technology, history, biology, space and space exploration, public lands, and more. He’s one of approximately three confirmed “cat people” in the outdoor industry.
